In the latest edition of the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index 2025, the Czech Republic ranked 30th in the global ranking, a slight improvement from last year. Within Central and Eastern Europe, the Czech Republic holds a stable 3rd place behind Estonia and Lithuania. Prague, as the country’s main startup hub, ranked 85th in the global city rankings and excels particularly in the areas of e-commerce, healthtec and h & data. Brno follows in 186th place overall and Ostrava rounds out the Top 3 with 732nd place. The report covers 1,473 cities and 118 countries.
The worth-to-see Czech startups include e.g. Rohlik Group (Czech unicorn), as well as travel platform Kiwi.com or biopharmaceutical company SOTIO Biotech and Resistant AI focusing on cybersecurity. The Czech ecosystem benefits in particular from its quality technical education, strategic location in the centre of Europe and a strong tradition in cybersecurity founded by companies such as AVAST and AVG.
