One of the most promising Czech startups, Skypicker, finally announced what were its plans with the newly bought domain Kiwi.com. It was rather an unexpected move, but the company decided to rebrand itself to Kiwi.com! So from now on, if you try to search Skypicker to buy your cheap flying ticket, you will be redirected to Kiwi.com. Do not be surprised!
The announcement came as a big surprise since most of the commentators agreed in the past that this new domain and name might be used for Skypicker´s airlines. Nevertheless, we will have to get used to the new name, logo and website, but the services and the team behind the project still remain the same, as the team of Kiwi.com stressed out in its announcement.
Skypicker´s team commented the change: “The company and its product have matured over the years as our goals were still increasing, it turned out that the former company name served really well to two guys in a garage but no longer reflects the direction of the company in the coming months and years”
As you may remember from our previous article about Skypicker, the company bought the domain Kiwi.cz for stunning 800 000 USD, making it the second biggest acquisition of 2016 at the time. The company experienced a rapid growth since 2012, when it was founded. It started with only two people and an idea, and nowadays, it operates with more than 550 employees and revenues of more than 2 bil. CZK with plans to expand even more.
